Group Tones is a simple mapping tool built to help today's increasingly DIY music community. Whether you're looking for a new band, your next gig, or even a show in your neighborhood, Group Tones puts you on the musical map.
Who is Group Tones for? Who should join Group Tones?
Group Tones is for those of all levels of experience, from novice to rock star. Group Tones was created for everyone who wants to explore diverse musical interests and backgrounds. Whether it's finding a new drummer or your first jazz brunch, Group Tones connects you with the music community.
But I'm not a musician, should I still join Group Tones?
Absolutely! Group Tones is for all who want to take part in their music community, not just musicians. Bar owners, graphic artists, sound engineers are all part of today's musical landscape.
What is a gig (gig)? What is an event (event) Whats the difference?
A gig (gig) is a post seeking musicians. Whether its for a private party or a local festival, a GIG post (gig) is looking for musicians services.

An EVENT (event) is an open invite to anyone. Whether its a local act, a CD release, or a launch party, an event post (event) is looking for attendees.
Why should I join group tones?
Group Tones is incredibly easy to use and free! It was designed with your goals in mind: to create, share, and experience music in a way that is simple and hassle-free. The Group Tones interface was built around Google Maps to make the musical landscape easy to navigate. You work hard enough on your music. Spending hours looking for gigs and musicians shouldn't keep you from spending time on what's most important do you.
What if I play classical/polka/horror-core?
It doesn't matter if you play the bass, banjo, or bouzouki, all types of music are encouraged at Group Tones. We appeal to the musician and music lover inside you by allowing you to explore a large variety of music across the globe.
Where is Group Tones based? Where can I use Group Tones?
As Group Tones is based in Boston, we are concentrating on a New England-based launch. We hope that you use GroupTones as you travel; we have members from San Francisco to Texas to Haiti. Everyone from Japan to France is welcome and encouraged to join!
What does Group Tones cost?
Group Tones is an absolutely free service.
What do I do now?
